Alpine Aerotech adds Bell 205 to Digital Instrument STC

On , In News

Kelowna, BC (August 17th, 2021) — ALPINE AEROTECH, an international leader in helicopter maintenance and product development announced today that they have re-issued their cost-effective digital flight instrument STC (supplemental type certificate) to include the Bell 205 for Day/Night VFR (Visual Flight Rules) operations. This digital instrument kit has been previously approved for installation on Bell 212 aircrafts in Canada, the United States, and in Europe.

The digital flight instrument kit is specifically designed to replace standard analog instruments which tend to be more expensive to repair, and sometimes unreliable. The upgraded heading and attitude indicators are more accurate than analog instruments which have moving parts that eventually wear out over time. The installer can also remove tarsyn/rate gyros, flux valve, remote compensator, compass control, and all associated wiring resulting in less failures and a substantial decrease in weight. The digital instrument kit also includes all installation provisions which creates a near plug and play solution that requires only minor structural modifications for a GPS antenna installation. For added safety, the attitude indicator has an internal backup battery that provides approximately an hour of service in the event of a complete power failure, which is unique to the Bell 205 installation. The digital instrument kit comes with a complete two-year warranty on all instruments and components. Alpine Aerotech is now accepting pre-orders and is offering limited time introductory pricing.

“We’ve been providing this digital instrument kit to Bell 212 operators for approximately 3 years with great feedback” explains Taylor Wilson, Manager of Manufacturing at Alpine Aerotech. “We regularly get asked about availability for other Bell models, and we agreed the 205 is an excellent addition to our product line”.
